BFRS Commercial Fire

Birmingham Fire & Rescue

Birmingham Firefighters were called to a large warehouse fire at BGR Auto Sales on Birmingham's Northside Wednesday morning. Upon arrival, companies were met with flames and a lot of smoke coming from a structure that had numerous cars inside and around it. Complicating the situation for firefighters even more, the fire had been started by the movement of a container that had 300 gallons of fuel inside. This, along with explosions from propane tanks, made for an even greater dangerous situation.

Quick work by Birmingham Firefighters put a stop on the fire and prevented more damage to surrounding exposures. Runoff from the fuel and other byproducts was contained, as well.

I want to say a special word of thanks to Captain Mardis for sharing the following pictures.
