Officer Mary Smith was laid to rest yesterday in a beautiful ceremony that was covered live on television. After the funeral service in Bessemer, Officer Mary Smith was taken to Elmwood Cemetery in a procession that stretched for miles.

There was an enormous turn out for the service with departments from all over the state represented, as well as Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia and Washington DC... just to name a few.
