New Rescue 20

Homewood Fire Department

Homewood Fire has taken delivery of a beautiful new Rescue Unit. The unit, from EVI and mounted on a Ford F-550 Super Duty chassis, has been placed in-service at Station 2 as Rescue 20 and is already on the streets.

Congratulations to Homewood!

Not yet... they caught a run as soon as I got there and I couldn't hang around. If someone from Homewood doesn't send me the information, I'll try to catch them again.

In addition to having all the standard EMS, rescue, and extrication equipment, all of the confined space equipment was transferred from Ladder 4, It is not transport capable, but there are 2 SCBA seats in the compartment behind the cab.It has a hydraulic generator for power.

Im glad to see that Homewood is smart enough to buy rescue unit that is not transport capable. Dont want to make the same mistake as Birmingham and loose all their fire medics!
