Homewood Bank Robbery

Serial Bank Robber Captured

Swift and intelligent police work by Homewood and Birmingham Police Officers led to the capture of a suspected serial bank robber who allegedly robbed several banks around the country.

The fact that he left the bank in a taxicab didn't help his cause.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.
-- Birmingham police said they arrested Donnie Kenneda, the man who allegedly robbed several banks around the country.

FBI agents said they arrested the suspected serial robber Wednesday morning while he was fleeing in a taxicab after robbing a bank in Homewood, Ala.

Authorities said he handed the teller a note and then fled the bank with cash.

Police stopped Kenneda's cab and arrested him without incident.

Investigators said they have linked Kenneda to robberies committed in Syracuse, N.Y., Covington, Ky., Cincinnati and Columbus by witness identifications, wording in the robbery notes, M.O. and physical description.
