The SHoe Hospital ambulance is illegal due to it still displaying the STar of Life emblems. If anyone sees or knows where it works from, notify the state offices so they can get it pulled.

Oh for goodness sake, give us a break!! Its quite possible that we would not mistake a Shoe Hospital vehicle for an ambulance!!!!!

You people are asinine idiots. No you nor I would mistake this as a real ambulance. But to an uneducated elderly person it may appear real in an emergency or a percieved emergency by them. Old people are now used to seeing the Star of Life on real trucks. They may even be accustomed to seeing the word Hospital painted on some. But in their percieved emergency they see the red lights, stat and the word hospital and may think it to be a real ambulance. Be glad it is not in TN or the owner would be in huge trouble. TN does not view this stuff lightly Alabama might. As for putting the star on an old ambulance, take it from a former ambulance collector and former owner of the most infamous Cadillac ambulance, don't do it. You need to check you local laws before you stick it on there or you could face a huge fine.

I personally would love to see the old Cadillac Ambulance back in service.I drove a Caddy when I first started the EMS back in 1974.I loved the EMS so much I worked as an EMT for 30 years.I've driven boxed units. Van types. You name it.Nothing rode or handled like the very first time I drove that Hightop Cadillac Ambulance with a Q

O.K. This unit is now Black, and the stars are gone from it. A guy bought it who was running a recording studio but now sells clothes from the back at the bessemer flea market. The lights still work. Inside the rear there is still a list of old telephone numbers to Indianapolis hospitals and a State of Indiana Emergency Vehicle Certificate.

You people obviously have bumped your heads!. Like the publisher of this website I have been involved in EMS for a great many years and think that panicking over use of symbols on private vehicles is ridiculous. Are the EMS police gonna take my old ambulance? or lock me up? Or? -NO!!!. Most elderly people are too sick to care what the hell is on the vehicle they just want help!.People get over yourselves and cry about something else and not what people own. I will put what I wish on my own vehicle with no fear of the EMS po po!.
